I'd say Havukruunu is the inheritor of Quorthon and Bathory. Male choirs, vikingesque themes and tales of Finnish paganism from the happier times before our ancestors were made to convert or die by sword of blooded cross. These songs bring a tear into my eye when I think my ancestors being forced to kneel in front of a murderer.

Les deux explorateurs de Mesarthim ouvrent la voie et étendent notre horizon à chacun de leurs albums et .--... ... . -. -.-. . pousse encore plus loin cette contemplation de l'univers. Si le synthé est toujours aussi prépondérant (marque de fabrique du groupe), il sert à créer désormais une ambiance assez sombre, voire funéraire (l'orgue superbe à la fin de "...--") sur le premier tiers de l'album puis plus aérienne et galactique sur les deux tiers restants. Ce disque est un trésor absolu.

Spin-offs were made of this project for a reason. Very few metal musicians are able to put a sound to something that is distinctly Eastern Orthodox. And it should be worth noting that despite how long it's been since this band was stolen, the version that's been touring North America is the stolen Batushka, not the original.
