The Triumph of Ruin

Arrogant Bastard Seems nigh impossible to approach metal without mentioning "atmosphere" these days. Alas, again I've procured another atmo-black album. Enjoy ov deep melancholy.
This release discerns itself being heavily instrumental, using only clean vocals and an acute focus on painting the aural landscape; like waxing black tides receding into grey mists, sure to return.

This album's artwork completely embodies the aural experience . Favorite track: Lords of Barren Fields.

Oliver Schiller Music that sounds like the artwork looks like. Favorite track: The Looming Darkness.

H.L. The epic and heavy funeral doom of the THE HOWLING VOID's early days developed little by little into a melancholic "post-funeral doom" atmosphere: No more deep growling, no more 10 minute-songs.

It is still very atmospheric, full of extensive instrumental parts and far away from being happy music, but in matters of intensity it is like the difference between pitch-black and misty grey.

As both shades have their quality, it depends on my mood what I prefer on one or the other day! Favorite track: The Looming Darkness.

about

The Howling Void fifth full length album will be released by Avantgarde Music in March (precise release date will soon be announced) as a 6 panels digipack!
With "The Triumph..." Ryan managed to push THV even more into those desolation and epic fields yet anticipated in the minialbum "Runa", reaching now an unique sound, defiitely more personal than the project's funeral doom roots
