Ippocalyptica Essentially the sequel to Chaos Moon’s Eschaton Mémoire that we have all been waiting for, with cleaner production values and a little more emphasis on the atmospheric and ethereal side. This is, rather unsurprisingly at this point, another example of several in which Alex Poole and Jack Blackburn can do no wrong in the realm of extreme metal. One of 2023’s very best atmospheric BM albums, but Alex, you are not off the hook for the actual follow up to Eschaton Mémoire that we need!

bmurator US Atmospheric Black Metal. Of the deep & emotional & emotive kind. With some fantastic instrumentation & some great contrasts between the harsh vocals & the wonderful melodies. Highly recommended!!! Favorite track: Of Mages and Mystics.

Luke A band which has always seemed a little divided between black metal and dungeon synth finds the perfect middle ground. But you don't need to like either of those things. You just need to like DRUMS.

Two years after their acclaimed Thrall of Winter's Majesty, international black metal duo Ringarë is about to release their new studio effort, Of Momentous Endless Night.

Born from the unity of purpose of two prolific musicians, American Alex “Esoterica” Poole (Skáphe, Chaos Moon, Nattfärd, Ars Hmu and many others) and Swedish Likpredikaren (Nattfärd, Ars Hmu, Demonomantic and more), Ringarë has grown a dedicated cult following over the years.

In their own words, the two artists describe “Of Momentous Endless Night as an album which carries forth the chaos that was born with Sorrow Befell (Iron Bonehead, 2020). Although a darker and more aggressive companion to the predecessor demo, this full-length takes it's own unique path, treading where the band has not gone before with 4 tracks of hateful, sorrowful black metal. Past battles, nefarious rituals, and Satanic summonings fuel the triumphs to behold within this sinister saga. The stories told are not of this plane; nor can they be considered past, present, or in the future. Each listen pulls them closer to this desolate world. Join us!”

Drawing inspiration from the early classics of ...And Oceans, Dimmu Borgir, Katatonia, Vordven, Bishop of Hexen, and Enslaved, amongst many others, Ringarë’s Of Momentous Endless Night will be released on CD, LP and digital via Avantgarde Music on December 15th, 2023.

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone. Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ
