H.L. I know AEON WINDS from the split with Midnight Odyssey and similar to them they are real masters of dense atmosphere. AEON WINDS act harsher in general, but the songs are also epic and touching. "Opus Coronation" for example is indeed a mighty opus, another touching song is "Of Revenants and Apparations", both songs representative for the dark mood of album. Favorite track: Opus Coronation.

Lorenzo Compelling black metal from Slovakia incorporating significant atmospheric qualities and a wee bit of occult obscurity into their craft. Massive in sound, with a palpable but not overpowering emotional undercurrent, Night Sky Illuminations displays a grandiose world filled with harsh winds that blast across arid landscapes.

The integration of ambient sections add a reprieve to the heavier focus too, but are no less hard hitting in the introspection.

After four years of waiting, Aeon Winds are back with their new album Night Sky Illuminations. Their third full-length studio album, it follows up the themes the band dealt with in their previous album Stormveiled (2019) and the EP Extinguishing the Light (2022).

The mythological legacy of pre-Christian times intertwines with the mystical fascination of Carpathian sceneries and blends into seven long, hymnic and powerful songs.

Recorded, mastered and produced at Tryzna Studio, Aeon Winds new studio album features a painting by Russian digital illustrator Yaroslav Gerzhedovich, and will be released on CD, LP and digital November 17th, 2023 via Avantgarde Music.

Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. On ne frappe pas un homme à terre : c'est ce que dit la règle mais NONE a déjà prouvé qu'il ne les suivait pas et si son album éponyme retirait toute perspective de béatitude spirituelle, Life has gone on long enough, son deuxième opus, nous interdit l'accès au bonheur terrestre. La vie n'a aucune substance et la production plus distante le confirme. Le DSBM s'empare de textures sonores blues, mettant en relief une dépression urbaine. The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
