PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter.

Certains s'engagent dans la voie du one-man band parce qu'ils n'ont pas les moyens d'assumer un groupe ou parce que leur vision est trop complexe. netra est un one-man band parce que c'est comme ça que ça doit être et c'est aussi grâce à ça que Mélancolie urbaine casse les codes. Le black metal dépressif, le jazz noir, l'electro : tout fait ressentir une humanité qui s'effiloche...

Galaktik Cancer Squad a muté : dans Ghost Light, la présence du chant se confirme (et il est très furieux) et la production met la batterie un peu en retrait, ce qui permet d'oublier qu'elle est programmée. Malgré tous ces changements, le travail de compositions sur les guitares, plus proches du black metal, est toujours aussi impeccable avec quelques riffs, notamment sur "In lichterlosen Weiten" et "Hypnose", qui sont presque légendaires — comprenne qui pourra ! Vivement un prochain album !!

Faire passer le black par un équipement daté pour rendre le son brut de décoffrage, j'ai longtemps pensé que c'était Staurophagia le maître en la matière mais Obsidian Tongue l'a fait avant lui et tout aussi bien dans son premier opus, Volume I: Subradiant Architecture. On se retrouve ainsi avec un black metal qui rend hommage à l'école norvégienne, entre poésie ésotérique ("Approaching the Well", "It Dangles from the Bones") et guitares furieuses, mais il est aussi très moderne. Un bon album !
